 There is alot of legal issues in the world on gambling. Most countries try to regulate it and some countries, mostly Islamic, have a zero tollerance on gambling. Alot of christian organizations set aside a few days a year for gambling. There fears come from gambling leading to more illicit bahavior. All legal government bodies have ordinances on gambling. National, state, county, city, and township governments have laws or ordinances in their code book to limit and regulate gambling of any type. In the United States of America gambling is legal but it has to be regulated. The federal government has left it upto state goverments to allow and regulate or not allow gambling. States have passed this duty on to smaller governments like county and citys. In 1987 gambling was legalized on indian reservations. The gambling on these soverign nations is regulated by the federal government. Being on reservation ground state and local governments can not regulate or limit gambling at these locations. Gambling has been legal in Las Vegas since 1931. It has became the largest revenue in the state. In 1976 the gambling boom in Atlantic city, New Jersey became legal. It quickly grew into a metropolis of casinos and gaming facilities. This happened in Tunica, Mississippi in 1990 when gambling was legalized there. Most states operate some form of gambling. State lotteries in the form of scratch off tickets or number games bring in large amounts of money. Most states, counties, or cities give out special permits to non profit organizations for legal gambling. These groups have gambling nights, bingo, or other gambling sources. Pull tabs are a popular game of chance for these organizations. There is alot of illegal gambling in the world as well. This gambling can include card games, races, and betting on sports events. Special times of the year increase some gambling. Superbowl Sunday is one such day for high levels of illegal and legal gambling.
